This wonderful Victorian highland couple, Circa 1870, look resplendent with their enormous wheat sheaves.
These were originally spill vases, usually kept on the mantel piece and filled with spills used to transfer fire from the fireplace to candles, lamps, a pipe or even an indulgent cigar!
In today's setting these wheat sheaves make for the perfect vessels for tall stemmed flowers; absolutely charming!
